Initially called onsite to undertake a vital EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) to investigate the condition of the electrical installations at FMC, Yee Group electricians recommended a number of energy and cost-saving solutions for the Burton operation of the company, now part of FMC with its headquarters in Philadelphia.
Yee Group provided case studies from recent projects for Amethyst Logistics, Futuba Industries and DACS, where the upgraded electrical installations had significantly reduced operating costs.
“Our plans for the installation of intelligent, energy-efficient electrical and emergency lighting systems were given the go ahead for the warehouse and the offices by Leslie Eames”, said Yee Group’s Jason Cooper.
The electrical contractor installed Tamlite’s innovative HILUX T5 industrial luminaires to illuminate the 8 m high portal warehouse; and the same company’s LED down-lighters, with Phillips 5-year guaranteed DLM module and driver, in the two-storey offices at the front of the building.
“It is still early days to make a completely accurate estimate of the annual savings”, added Yee Group’s MD, Simon Chapman, “But similar installations have delivered reductions in energy bills of close to £3,000 per annum”.
“Reducing carbon footprints remain a high-priority for the majority of businesses. Installations of new lighting systems that contribute to lowering a footprint, whilst reducing energy consumption, are therefore an immediate win-win”
