TF Solutions based on the Clarke Industrial Estate, Wetmore Road, one of the ‘original one-stop-shops for all your air conditioning supplies’, boasts a wide portfolio of leading branded air-conditioning systems, refrigeration products and associated components in its 10,000 sq ft warehouse. The Burton on Trent branch has been a Yee Group customer for many years and this has now been extended to its Dunstable and Stockport branches, on the basis of the successful projects completed for the independent distributor business.Yee Group Engineers led by Jason Cooper, initially carried out a comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), commonly referred to as ‘periodic inspection and testing’, at their Northern branch. This provides an approved inspection and testing report and confirmation that the electrical installations are in a satisfactory condition for continued use. “Periodic inspection and testing should be carried out by competent persons”, continued Jason. “They will check the condition of the Electrical installation, against the British standards, Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 – Requirements for Electrical Installations). Currently, T F Solutions is running its Introducing The Ice Man campaign, which reminds all its customers that ‘the company knows all about air con as the original air conditioning professionals’. “It is slightly tongue-in-cheek, but shows that we take what we do very seriously”, confirmed Andy Cherrill Director at T F Solutions, “And, it conveys important messages. These were part of our shortlisting in the prestigious ‘Distributor / Wholesaler of the Year’ category at the ACR News 2014 Awards”. As a result of Yee Group’s inspections, remedial works were arranged at Dunstable. The substantial offices were rewired and Cat 2 light fittings were installed as
these are the accepted standard, for office working environments. “Cat 2 lighting is recognised across the trade for its flicker free and silent operation”, pointed out Jason Cooper, Yee Group’s project manager. “The 15% increase in light output over standard tubes, (with two tube Cat 2 fittings replacing an existing installations of four tube fittings) is an added-bonus in offices with a high concentration of desk-top PCs or laptops”, he continued. “And, finally, the investment in these new innovative lighting systems, also delivers a 20-30% saving in running costs”. Yee Group’s engineers designed and installed new earthing system with upgraded main equipotential bonding conductors to both the gas and water supplies. “Equipotential bonding serves the purpose of ensuring that the earthed metalwork of the electrical installation is connected to other metalwork”, added Jason Cooper. “This ensures that no dangerous potential differences can occur, as the protective device will effectively eliminate them”. “The value of an ECIR to each client, like that completed for T F Solutions, is self-evident”, remarked Yee Group MD, Simon Chapman, “From those inspections, advice and recommendations can be made on the existing electrical systems. “The fitting of energy efficient lighting that assists in improving working conditions, whilst reducing energy consumption, also has got to be a win-win. “In this case, it is another example of the close relationship between the two companies. It illustrates our ongoing exchange of information and product advice that works to the benefit of all our customers in Burton on Trent and across Staffordshire”.
