Crescent Motoring Services Ltd is a long-established independent mot, service and repair centre located in Burton on Trent. This family-run, independent garage thrives on customer service and honesty.
The company owners prides themselves on their professionalism and they are signed up to the Service and Repair Code, the longest-standing Code of its kind in the automotive sector, approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI). Today, some 7000 businesses have signed up for voluntary accreditation, which is available to independent garages/dealers, franchise dealer workshops (authorised repairers), body repair centres and mobile mechanics.
The company also take their site security very seriously and have always invested in their intruder alarm system and monitor it carefully. Professional in everything they do; Crescent Motoring wanted their intruder alarm to work effectively to safeguard the business and its assets.
Over time their existing alarm was becoming unreliable and so the management team brought in Yee Group to trouble shoot the functioning and performance issues that they were experiencing. “Faults were becoming a regular occurrence which was an unwelcome distraction for our team” commented Lyndsey Watson, finance and operations manager. “Despite it being well maintained the intruder alarm system had some intermittent faults and malfunctions which needed to be sorted out to make it perform better and be 100% reliable”.
After a full site survey Yee Group’s engineers discovered the source of the problem. They attributed the fault to the intermittent interruption of the Wi-Fi signalling within the building. Often vehicle movements within large buildings such as garages, warehouses and other logistics companies can disrupt the signalling between the signal receivers and detectors of an alarm system. In this case this was causing battery failures in the detectors and resulted in the system reporting a fault or failure.
Following a thorough investigation of the design of the existing alarm, Yee Group’s engineers recommended the installation of a hardwired system. The system specified was a Graded intruder alarm to meet the insurer’s requirements, and was designed to accommodate vehicle movements and to provide effective cover for the business’s operations.
The Crescent team also chose to include an app for receiving push notifications and to remotely set and un-set the intruder alarm. This flexible way to set and unset the alarm gives business owners greater control and they always report how useful and convenient they find this app.
Yee Group is a ‘Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board’ (SSAIB) certificated company, which assures clients that our installers have been trained and are subject to ongoing checks for technical competence by an accredited body. All alarm technicians are also qualified electricians with NICEIC accreditations.
Together with industry accreditations and equipment manufacturer training; Yee Group offers more than 39 years of experience in installing alarms in commercial premises and private homes. This combination of training and experience is just one of the reasons why clients rely on us and return year after year for all aspects of security systems including CCTV and Access Control.
Ms Watson concluded “I was impressed by the professional way in which Yee Group tackled our project. they managed to complete the work efficiently and neatly, all while we continued to attend to our customers’ vehicles”. She continued “We now have a reliable partner in Yee Group and full confidence in our intruder alarm system”.
