The four short-listed companies, in this highly competitive award category are Brightside Vets from Swadlincote, Crescent Motoring Services of Burton and Woodville, Red Carpet Cinema of Barton Marina, and T L Darby of Burton.
With 200 cars in stock, T L Darby VW is the leading car dealer with an extensive range of new models from this European car manufacturer. The dealership moved to its new showroom and premises on Centrum East Retail Park in December 2014.

The second business in the Customer Service Award shortlist is Burton and Woodville based Crescent Motoring Services, whose excellent car and vehicle servicing, repair and MOT has a strong and growing number of customers who recognise its top-quality attention to customer service.
“We are independently surveyed by Motor Codes, the RAC and Autocare”, pointed out Crescent Motors, General Manager, Keith Green. “So our 100% satisfaction rating is a definitive assessment based on customers’ reviews of what we consistently deliver.
“Customers are well-acquainted with our first-class service for all types and makes of cars and vans and have been delighted that we have again been recognised with this shortlisting in this prestigious Burton Mail Award”.
Bright Side Vets of Swadincote is the third business on the shortlist. Set up in 2014, the practice has already exceeded the expectations of its founders Jason and Kelly Freezer, who are now making plans for further expansion of their new brand of small animal health care.
“It has been our long-term ambition to run our own business and to bring innovation and excellent service in our clinical care for customers and their pets”, added Jason Freezer.
“From our research, we identified that we could offer enhanced customer service to pet owners and build on the existing recognition this vets has as the town’s leading practice. Our team of vets are knowledgeable, engaging and caring. We have first-hand examples of our growing reputation from the Five Star reviews on Facebook, with comments like ‘Thank you for being so amazing today’.
The final company judged by Yee Group for this award is Red Carpet Cinema and Cafe. Based at Barton Marina, the innovative cinema was launched two years ago; and continues to attract growing audiences of film-goers for its new releases, art films and screenings from major musical events.
“Our innovative approach to film presentation has been achieved through our two intimate film theatres”, said Kate Silverwood, from Red Carpet Cinema and Café.
“Our customers find watching films in smaller audiences highly attractive and convivial. They also like our schedules of films that are changed more frequently than major cinema chains”, she said.
